Banarasi Sarees
Banarasi sarees are woven in Varanasi, where silk and zari have been worked on the loom for centuries. This chapter covers katan and mashru silks: allover jaal, delicate booti, meenakari colour work and heavy dardozi bridal pieces. Each saree comes with its blouse piece.
Chapter II
Kanchipuram Sarees
Kanchipuram silk is woven in the temple town of Kanchipuram with a heavy mulberry silk and a zari border, often in two contrasting colours. Many of the pieces in this chapter carry the Silk Mark tag, the Silk Mark Organisation of India's label for pure silk.
